Chevrolet Performance + NHRA: The COPO legend continues
In 2015, Chevrolet won the NHRA Manufacturer Bowl for the 21st time, with 29 national NHRA event victories in three Eliminator categories. But our relationship with the pinnacle of professional drag racing stretches back decades, including the 1969 introduction of the first COPO Camaro purpose-built for the drag strip.

Built for the strip, the race-ready and Chevrolet Stock Class-exclusive DR525 crate engine is a small-block, fuel-injected powerhouse. Available in a Muscle Car Oil Pan Kit (P/N 19329009) packing 494 lb-ft of torque, or a Gen4 F-Body Oil Pan Kit (P/N 19329008) packing 498 lb-ft, both come ready to go from crate to staging lane in minimal time.

It’s not every group of racers who can trace their roots to Prohibition-era moonshiners, so it takes some serious commitment to go fender-to-fender on America’s Circle Tracks. Thankfully, we’ve got the line of Circle Track engines and the heritage to proudly sponsor the grassroots Circle Track in series classes across the country.
