How To Access Your Equinox EV's 12-Volt Battery
In case your vehicle’s 12-Volt battery dies, you will need to follow the below steps to access it. You will need to do this in case you are locked out of your vehicle when it needs for a jump start.
How to Access the Equinox EV’s 12-Volt Battery
- If your vehicle’s battery is dead and you are locked out of the vehicle, you will need to enter the vehicle through the liftgate.
- To do this, you must open your key fob to reveal the mechanical key inside it and then use that to open the lock on the liftgate. There is a small metal button on your key fob that will reveal the key. Press the button and pull on the side of the fob closest to the button to pull the key out.
- Enter the vehicle from the open liftgate and release the rear driver-side door.
- Enter the rear seat and reach to the driver-side front door handle to release the door.
- Enter the driver seat and pull the hood release mechanism, located below and to the left of the steering wheel. It will be labeled with a symbol that looks like a vehicle with an open hood.
- You can now open the hood and access the 12-Volt battery.
