Tailor your vehicle’s performance with Driver Mode Control

Driver Mode Control allows you to tailor your vehicle’s performance in response to road conditions or driving preferences.

The types of modes available depend on your model and the vehicle’s equipment, but may include the following:

Tour/Normal: It provides normal acceleration and comfortable ride tuning for everyday driving.

Sport: It provides tightened steering response while more responsive suspension and engine calibration provide a fun-to-drive, sporty performance ideal for dry roads.

Tow/Haul: Keeps the vehicle in a lower gear for more torque, improving the drive when pulling a trailer or heavy load and holds lower gears longer to prevent excessive shifting in operation.

AWD: Engages the rear wheels to help improve normal driving on paved roads that are covered with water, snow or ice. This feature is not available on vehicles without selectable four-wheel drive.

Snow/Ice: This adjusts the pedal map, slowing acceleration and torque response to help prevent wheel slip and improve performance on slippery road surfaces.

Off-Road: Designed to help improve traction, maneuverability and handling in off-road conditions such as gravel, sand and mud.

Terrain: Designed for low-speed off-road surfaces, it adjusts your vehicle’s shift mapping and traction control, and adds automatic braking to maximize performance in varying conditions.

My Mode: A configurable mode for your everyday driving preferences that allows you to customize steering, braking, acceleration feel and responsiveness, and motor sound in the center display.

Z Mode/V Mode: If equipped, this is a customizable mode designed for intervals of peak performance in which you can choose your preferred propulsion setting, as well as customize the engine’s shift-tuning settings, suspension, steering, exhaust, engine sound, brake feel and PTM.

Track Mode: With transmission and steering similar to Sport Mode, it adjusts the accelerator pedal to help provide increased control during spirited driving for optimal vehicle handling on closed tracks.

Weather: Similar to Snow/Ice Mode, Weather Mode adjusts the throttle progression and transmission shifts to help control wheel speed on slippery road surfaces.

The mode selection method varies depending on the vehicle. If equipped with a physical method of activation, you’ll find either a dial to the left of the steering wheel, a knob on the console near the armrest, or a button or bank of buttons on the instrument panel.

If equipped with a dial or knob to select a driving mode:

1. If there are just two driving modes on the dial, turn the dial to the desired driving mode.

a. If there are more than two driving modes on the dial, turn the dial or push the button to the desired driving mode.

b. If your vehicle does not have icons on the mode selector knob, you’ll see a menu selection screen in your instrument cluster indicating the mode you’ve selected.

If equipped with a button to select a driving mode:

1. If your vehicle has a bank of specific mode buttons, push the button corresponding with the desired drive mode.

a. If your vehicle has a single Mode button, repeatedly push the MODE button to toggle between available modes.

2. A backlit icon on the button will show the driving mode; an indicator light on the instrument cluster will show the selected mode.

If equipped with the Drive Mode app on your center display:

1. Open the Drive Mode App Scroll through the apps on your center display and select DRIVE MODE.

2. Select the icon of the mode you’d like to activate.

3. If your vehicle is equipped with My Mode, personalize your drive by selecting the My Mode pencil icon, then the subsystem you’d like to adjust.

Selecting another mode will cancel the current mode and activate the newly selected one. To exit a chosen driving mode, perform the same action you did to activate the mode.

Note: One-Pedal Driving† may be turned on and off on the Drive Mode screen in the lower-right corner by tapping the Foot on Pedal icon.
