Help Enhance Driving Range with Regen On Demand
Regen On
You can use Regen On Demand on its own or together with One-Pedal
1. Ensure your vehicle is in DRIVE or LOW
2. Pull the paddle on the back of your steering wheel toward you and hold it to slow the vehicle
- Some vehicles allow you to brake more aggressively by pulling the paddle closer toward you more firmly and brake more gradually by pulling the paddle toward you more gently
3. Release the paddle when you want to continue normal driving
- If the vehicle is brought to a complete stop while you’re holding the paddle, the vehicle will not creep forward when you release the paddle. Use the accelerator pedal to move forward
What you need to know:
- Always use your brake pedal for hard, emergency braking situations when you need to bring the vehicle to a stop quickly.
- While using Regen On Demand, you can also continue to use your brakes as needed to slow or stop the vehicle.
Important Note About Regen On Demand:
To help you maintain your vehicle’s battery, it is recommended you only charge your battery to 80% capacity for daily use. This allows space in the battery for regenerative braking, which uses the electric motor to help slow the vehicle while simultaneously charging the vehicle with free energy. For longer trips, you can adjust your charge above 80% for extended range. See your Owner’s Manual for more information.
There are several conditions that may impact Regen On Demand:
- Battery conditions: When the battery is fully charged or the battery temperature is extremely cold or hot, Regen On Demand may not operate as normal. Most models will blend in normal brakes to maintain a consistent driving feel.
- Road and vehicle conditions: Regen On Demand is not recommended for use in slippery road conditions (wet, snowy or icy roads). Steep hills may require more frequent use of the brake pedal.
