Chevrolet Performance recently unveiled its latest engine offering and the news is big – literally. The L8T crate engine* features a 6.6L displacement, making it the largest power plant in the Chevrolet LT family.
Built for work, the engine makes 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque. It also utilizes direct injection for precise fuel control, enabling a 10.8:1 compression ratio. The L8T is built with a cast-iron block, forged steel crankshaft and a variety of other high-strength parts.
In a new Product Spotlight video, Chevrolet Performance Design Release Engineer Blake Nye covers the details of the L8T crate engine, including how it makes so much low-rpm torque.
