In much of the United States, the month of November means it’s time to put the fun vehicles away for the winter and get ready for projects in the garage as the temperature drops outside.
But in Arizona, mid-November is prime show season, and each year thousands of General Motors cars and trucks fill the grounds at State Farm Stadium in Glendale for the two-day Dino’s Git Down.
Dino’s Git Down in Glendale, Arizona, attracts thousands of Chevrolet and GM vehicles each November.
The free event (yes, you read that right) began in 2010 and was held in show founder and organizer Dino Battilana’s backyard. It soon moved to the parking lot of his business, Dino’s Appliance Factory Service, before expanding to its current home in the massive State Farm Stadium parking lot.
Originally, Dino’s Git Down was a show for Chevrolet and GMC trucks only, and the Friday portion of the event maintains that exclusivity. However, Saturday is now open to all models and years of GM vehicles. Admission is free for both participants and spectators.
The event draws a massive crowd.
During two perfect weather days on the third weekend in November, this year’s event featured its normal assortment of vehicles consisting of everything from low riders to lifted trucks, restored originals to crate engine*-powered restomods, and much more. Hip hop, Mexican pop and country music blared from speakers throughout the event, engines revved, and clubs enjoyed picnics in the tailgating area in front of the stadium.
In many ways, the event was a beautiful example of how the automotive hobby serves as a common ground for folks from all walks of life.
Additionally, dozens of companies made up the extensive vendor row, including Chevrolet Performance.
Dino’s Git Down truly had something for everyone.
Chevrolet Performance was one of many vendors showcasing their products at the 2024 edition of Dino’s Git Down.
The BLOCK team was on-site throughout this year’s program and gathered many images from the show in the desert. A gallery is below.
